The American Filtration & Separations Society is hosting its 4th Bi-Annual Emissions Solutions in Transportation Conference in Ann Arbor, MI, October 6-8, 2009.

(Advertiser Talk) 31-Aug-2009 — The American Filtration & Separations Society is hosting its 4th Bi-Annual Emissions Solutions in Transportation Conference in Ann Arbor, MI, October 6-8, 2009. The Conference has two separate Tracks with Short Courses Monday, October 5th dealing with the Basics of Air and Liquid filtration as well as four additional courses.

This Conference is designed specifically for both the engineer and mangers that have a vested interest in current and new technologies and future needs in emission solutions. The program is created to cover most every aspect of the industry an engineer will encounter. It begins with idea creation and innovative concepts through final testing procedures and the updated status of governing and future regulations from CARB, EPA etc. The audience will consist of senior executives, business, technical and research managers from OEM’s, industry suppliers, filtration and separations companies, all with the objective to understand current industry needs and identify future opportunities.

The regulators continue to up the ante and emission control technology improvements seem to follow. It all stated in the 1980’s and accelerated in the 1990’s. The fittest survived, yet the beat goes on, seemly, without end. Reach one level and another is there to take its place. Getting to market with innovative cost-effective technology is a constant challenge.

Highlighting the Conference are a number of blue-ribbon plenary, luncheon and banquet speakers. They include Charlie Freese, General Motors, Dr. Dennis Assanis, University of Michigan, W.E. Lay Automotive Laboratory, Cleophas Jackson, EPA, Ken Howden, Department of Energy, Kevin Westerson, Cummins Filtration and the banquet speaker, Dr. David Cole, Center for Automotive Research.
