The second televised leaders’ debate

Leaders of the three main political parties are due to have their second televised election debate.

This debate will be held in Bristol at 8pm on Thursday. Broadcast by Sky News, the first half will be focused on foreign affairs.

After all the damage done to our politics, David Cameron called for the leaders’ debates to happen as they offer a new way for politicians to connect with the public.

The first debate was last Thursday and focused on domestic issues, the third and last debate before the election will be on Thursday 29th April and focus on economic issues.

As with the first debate, Conservatives in every region of the country will be watching the debates together at Watch Parties. These events were trialled last month for the Trevor Macdonald documentary about David Cameron.
Party Chairman Eric Pickles will again be conducting a conference call with the Watch Parties before the debate starts. Click here for more information on hosting a Watch Party.

Many people will be commenting on the debate as it happens, particularly on sites like Twitter – using hashtag #LeadersDebate. Check back to this page (also found at conservatives.com/LeadersDebate) on Thursday evening to see a livefeed of key tweets from various Conservatives.

  1. We do not have Sky News so cannot see the 2nd debate. Why should we need to join Sky to see this? All these debates should be available on the free channels.

  2. I think that it’s ridiculous that I can’t find the 2nd debate anywhere. I’m an American university student, so my only interest is personal. But what of all of the actual British citizens unable to see the debate?!
