The National Association of School Nurses Launches NASN Radio Powered by BAM Radio Network

NASN’Radio, the association’s newest online resource used to educate school nurses and parents on H1N1 (Swine Flu)
Los Angeles, CA (Advertiser Talk) 08-Aug-2009 — Today, the BAM Radio Network (BRN), a joint project of Moving and Learning and Jackstreet Media Ventures, announced a partnership with the National Association of School Nurses to produce and distribute NASN Radio ( http://www.nasn.org ). The new media resource will feature timely interviews on subjects relevant and valuable to school nurses and keep school nurses up-to-date with the latest practice and professional information. NASN Radio will support the association’s mission of being the leading voice for safe and effective school health services and will also support the association’s goal of encouraging on-going professional development among school nurses. The program will be available to NASN members on demand 24/7 at the association’s web site and syndicated through the BAM Radio Network.
“The timing of our partnership with BAM Radio Network was perfect for the National Association of School Nurses,” said executive director Amy Garcia. “We were able to launch NASN Radio at the exact time that H1N1 (swine flu) virus broke out in the US. We reached thousands of school nurses, superintendents, educators, school psychologists and parents with timely information about H1N1 medical issues and how to talk with children about it. We were especially grateful to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for their participating in the medical interview in such a timely way. NASN Radio is an excellent way for school nurses, health professionals and members of the education community to stay informed about important health issues impacting our children.”
NASN Radio Launched with a special series on N1H1 Swine Flu. The series included a roundtable discussion to give school nurses guidance on managing the pandemic at the local level. A second segment provided a guide for parents on how to talk to their children about the pandemic. “This series provided critical and highly specialized information to two segments of the education community at a critical moment. We’re pleased to be able to serve in this capacity,” said Rae Pica, co-founder of the BAM Radio Network.

About BAM Radio Network
The BAM Radio Network was originally launched to address the severe imbalance in parenting practices caused by the “commercialization of parenting” and the emphasis on intellectual development that excludes the critical role of physical education. Created by leading early childhood experts, the programming has expanded to include diverse voices and insights from the leading experts in the field of early childhood development and the education of youth. The network is a joint venture between New Hampshire-based Moving & Learning and Los Angeles-based Jackstreet Media Ventures LLC. The programming is produced by Emmy winning broadcaster Errol Smith and distributed through the Affiliate Nanocasting Network.
