The Healthcare Scoop Seeks Women’s Health, Osteoporosis, Arthritis Stories

In observance of National Women’s Health Week, National Osteoporosis Awareness and Prevention Month and National Arthritis Month, The Healthcare Scoop asks consumers to share their personal experiences with others nationwide

Minneapolis, Minnesota (Advertiser Talk) 11-Aug-2009 — May is an important month for all American women. In addition to celebrating Mother’s Day, women across the country are paying close attention to their health and talking about important women’s health issues. In observance of National Women’s Health Week, May 10-16, The Healthcare Scoop is calling on women to share their personal “women’s health” experiences. They are also calling for stories in honor of National Osteoporosis Awareness and Prevention Month and National Arthritis Month.

“As an obstetrics and gynecology health care professional, I am charged with continually improving the standard of care women receive at our clinic,” said Dr. Donna Block of Clinic Sofia OBGYN in Edina, Minn. “But half of the battle is spreading awareness outside of the doctor’s office. By sharing their experiences online, women can help one another be better advocates for their own physical health, find women’s health providers that meet their needs and empower women across the country with important information about issues like breast cancer, osteoporosis and gynecological health.”

Many people don’t realize that arthritis can affect people of all ages from babies to senior citizens In managing the disease, there are treatments that can help with the pain. Medications, injections, physical therapy and exercises to do at home are some of the options. Help is available. There is no reason why patients with arthritis need to suffer in silence. National Osteoporosis Awareness and Prevention Month, May 2009 The Healthcare Scoop calls upon individuals and families impacted by osteoporosis to share their experiences and personal stories to encourage others to take action in protecting themselves and preventing osteoporosis.

National Arthritis Month, May 2009 To help raise awareness about arthritis and arthritis management, The Healthcare Scoop asks consumers to share their experiences with arthritis in honor of National Arthritis Month.

“Many people don’t realize that arthritis can affect people of all ages from babies to senior citizens,” said Dr. Andrew Will of Twin Cities Pain Clinic in Edina, Minn. “In managing the disease, there are treatments that can help with the pain. Medications, injections, physical therapy and exercises to do at home are some of the options. Help is available. There is no reason why patients with arthritis need to suffer in silence.”
