Miller, the founding CEO of TurboLinux, brings extensive software platform experience to the DeviceVM executive team.

San Jose, CA (Advertiser Talk) 28-Aug-2009 — DeviceVM, maker of the award-winning Splashtop® instant-on platform, today announced the appointment of Cliff Miller to the newly created position of Chief Strategy Officer. Cliff Miller is widely recognized for his role in commercializing Linux in Asia. As the founder and CEO of TurboLinux, Miller created a leading platform for enterprise computing in Japan and China. Under Miller’s leadership, TurboLinux became one of the first commercial Linux companies to achieve profitability, eventually going public in Japan. Subsequently, Miller founded and served as CEO of Mountain View Data, a vendor of data storage, replication, and provisioning solutions to over one thousand enterprise customers in the telecom, financial services, and manufacturing industries.

With shipments of 2 million units every month, and accelerating, Splashtop has become a leading software platform for both consumer and business computing We are fortunate to have Cliff join our team. As a seasoned executive and a recognized thought leader, Cliff is well suited to help drive industry adoption of the Splashtop platform. Cliff’s extensive enterprise and OEM relationships, especially in China and Japan, are a great advantage for growing our business. Joining DeviceVM was an easy decision I’ve known Mark and his team for several years – they have a clear vision, blazingly fast technology, and worldwide market momentum. The only downside I see is for Starbucks – with the Splashtop instant-on platform, people lose their excuse to go for coffee while booting up their computers. “With shipments of 2 million units every month, and accelerating, Splashtop has become a leading software platform for both consumer and business computing,” said Mark Lee, CEO and President of DeviceVM. “We are fortunate to have Cliff join our team.
