The session entitled “Building a Culture of Community Outreach” will take place Monday, December 8th at 3:45 pm.

“Year round screenings of your children and family films are a great way to keep your festival’s name in the forefront of the minds of both your sponsors and your audience. Schools, libraries, Girl Scouts, community centers and similar venues are great places to screen new film releases and generate interest in your festival. Many sponsors will kick in an additional sponsorship to cover events such as these. Or, some of these host agencies will jump at the opportunity to do a fund-raiser,” commented Randy Levy, Director, KIDS FIRST! Film Festival.

Community involvement is a vital component of any successful film festival. Partnering with other local organizations, working with schools, education outreach programs are just a few of the ways that festivals can engage and support its community. This accomplished group of panelists will discuss how their festivals give back to community resulting in better attendance and increased support.
